Group of 25 Pakistani bikers, belonging to Cross Route Club in Pakistan

A group of 25 Pakistani bikers, belonging to Cross Route Club in Pakistan, visited the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi today. Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi welcomed the group in the Embassy and hosted a lunch in their honour.
The group had started their bike ride from Lahore on 06 January 2023. The group is on its way to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. The group reached UAE from Iran and is heading towards Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq and Iran before their return to Pakistan, logging a distance of 14,000 km.
Mr. Mukarram Tareen, leader of the bikers’ group, stated that passing through brotherly Islamic countries would promote a positive image of Pakistan, its rich cultural heritage, pristine natural beauty and warm hospitality of Pakistani people. Besides performing Umrah, the group wanted to promote peace, friendship, and tourism among regional countries through adventure sports.
Ambassador Tirmizi in his remarks appreciated the initiative of the bikers for promotion of Pakistan in different regional countries and stated that such tours should be organized more frequently to and from Pakistan. Such people to people interactions were needed to promote friendship, sports and tourism among regional countries. A tree planting ceremony was also held at the embassy at the conclusion of the event.
